Tenneco: Monroe Ride Solutions Broadens Monroe Intelligent Suspension Portfolio with New CVSA2 Variant
Monroe Ride Solutions has expanded its Monroe Intelligent Suspension portfolio in Europe with a new CVSA2 variant featuring steel-tube dampers and dual electro-hydraulic valves. The variant was initially launched with multiple Chinese automotive manufacturers.
The new technology adds to the existing CVSA2 Performance, which combines the dual-valve design with lightweight aluminium dampers, and the CVSAe system.
The new CVSA2 variant provides independent real-time control of rebound and compression damping for each of the vehicle’s four semi-active dampers. Control is based on driver inputs, accelerometer data and body displacement data.
According to Monroe Ride Solutions, this enables OEMs to develop differentiated driving characteristics across a range of operating conditions, while enhancing comfort and handling. The system is also intended to provide a more controlled and confidence-inspiring driving feel, particularly during abrupt manoeuvres.
The technology is suitable for multiple vehicle types, including large battery-electric SUVs, off-road vehicles and luxury vehicles.
The new steel-tube dampers are manufactured at Monroe Ride Solutions facilities in Ermua, Spain, and Changzhou, China.
