Tenneco DAVINCI Damping Debuts on the New Mahindra Thar OG

Mahindra’s new Thar OG, launched on 22 September 2026, is based on the M_Glyde 4G platform and introduces significant suspension upgrades aimed at improving both on-road refinement and off-road capability. The rear suspension uses a PENTALINK layout incorporating a Watts Link, designed to improve cornering stability and control.

The Thar OG also introduces DAVINCI Damping technology (Tenneco), which Mahindra identifies as a key contributor to improved ride quality. The company describes the system together with Frequency Dependent Damping (FDD) as enabling a “plush ride.”

FDD is specifically listed as an incremental feature of the ZXT trim, while Mahindra's overall Thar OG description identifies DAVINCI Damping as part of the vehicle's suspension technology. This means the top ZXT combines DAVINCI with FDD.

The suspension upgrades are part of a broader effort to improve the Thar's ride, handling, stability and driving confidence while retaining its off-road capability.
