The 2026 Subaru Outback Wilderness features **new electronically controlled dampers as standard**, combined with **9.5 inches of ground clearance** and standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Subaru says the electronically controlled dampers are designed to improve **traction and ride comfort**.

The Outback Wilderness also has standard front underbody protection and redesigned front and rear bumpers intended to improve approach and departure angles, helping the vehicle clear larger obstacles.

Its **dual-function X-MODE** has been retuned with settings for snow, dirt, deep snow and mud. These settings allow additional wheel slip to help maintain traction in adverse conditions.

The vehicle uses **17-inch alloy wheels with Bridgestone Dueler all-terrain tires**, while the raised suspension contributes to its off-road capability.

The Outback Wilderness is powered by a **260-horsepower turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine**, producing 277 lb-ft of torque. Revised transmission gearing and an increased final drive ratio support low-speed climbing on grades of up to **40%**.
