RAPA Expands Chinese Production of Active Suspension Motor-Pump Units

RAPA has opened a second production plant in Jintan, China, with around €20 million invested in the facility and production equipment. The new plant increases the total footprint of RAPA’s two Jintan facilities to approximately 27,000 m².

A key focus is local production of RAPA’s electrohydraulic Motor-Pump Unit (MPU) for the Chinese automotive market. Production has already started for SERES. The MPU is a core component of active suspension systems, generating hydraulic pressure to enable highly dynamic suspension control and to compensate for roll, pitch and heavemovements.

RAPA has been manufacturing in Jintan since 2024 and currently employs around 315 people in China. The new facility strengthens its local manufacturing capability and brings production closer to Chinese OEM customers and future programmes.

The expansion forms part of RAPA’s strategy to strengthen its position in China’s rapidly developing automotive market and further expand its active suspension technology business through local production and customer integration.
