BWI supplies the air-spring/damper module fitted to the M-HERO X700.

Dongfeng’s new M-HERO X700 combines a 150 mm dual-chamber air suspension with MRC (magnetorheological) dampers, targeting both road comfort and off-road capability. The dual-chamber air system provides variable ride height and allows the vehicle to adapt its spring characteristics to different driving conditions. Dongfeng states that the system can deliver up to 328.8 mm ground clearance in its raised/off-road configuration.

The MRC dampers reportedly have a response time of less than 10 ms and can adjust damping up to 1,000 times per second. Recent Chinese reports also describe integration with the vehicle's Huawei XMC digital chassis, using camera and millimetre-wave radar information to anticipate road irregularities and pre-adjust damping. One report claims road-preview sensing can identify disturbances around 100 m ahead.

BWI has previously confirmed an order from Dongfeng's M-HERO brand for its AeroRide air-suspension system, including air-supply units, air tanks and air springs, for a next-generation large SUV.
