Dongfeng’s new **M-HERO X700** combines a **150 mm dual-chamber air suspension** with **MRC (magnetorheological) dampers**, targeting both road comfort and off-road capability. The dual-chamber air system provides variable ride height and allows the vehicle to adapt its spring characteristics to different driving conditions. Dongfeng states that the system can deliver up to **328.8 mm ground clearance** in its raised/off-road configuration.

The MRC dampers reportedly have a response time of **less than 10 ms** and can adjust damping up to **1,000 times per second**. Recent Chinese reports also describe integration with the vehicle's **Huawei XMC digital chassis**, using camera and millimetre-wave radar information to anticipate road irregularities and pre-adjust damping. One report claims road-preview sensing can identify disturbances around 100 m ahead.

BWI has previously confirmed an order from Dongfeng's M-HERO brand for its **AeroRide air-suspension system**, including air-supply units, air tanks and air springs, for a next-generation large SUV.
